Team G-Force Strikes Again at 2008 AMAPA Kick-Off Tournament!
On Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 part of the Team G-Force Competition Team started the year off with a blast in sport karate competition in both Kata (Forms Competition) and in Kumite (Sport Karate Fighting) and in Continuous Point Sparring.
Savannah Kauth captured 1st place in an Outstanding Performance in the intermediate girls and boys 10-11 yr old division in Kata Forms Competition and also placed 2nd in Kumite Sparring. Congrats to Savannah!
Alexis Chinchilla captured 1st place in the intermediate girls 10-11 yr old division in Kumite Sport Karate Fighting. Alexis later went on to compete in the Grand Championship Finals and managed to capture the Grand Championship Title for this event. In addition, Alexis placed 2nd in Kata Forms. Hats off to Alexis for an awesome show of spirit, determination and skill!
J.T. Permenter took home 1st place in Kata Forms in another razor sharp performance, then went on to take 3rd place in Kumite sparring. Great way to start off the year J.T.!
Kapono Carreira picks up where he left off in 2007 starting 2008 already with a bang capturing 1st place in Kumite Sport Karate Fighting in the boys 10-11 yr old intermediate division. Way to start off the new year Kapono!
Mariah Chinchilla the older sister of Alexis, although feeling ill from just the night prior to this day of competition with flu like symptoms came to the tournament not to sit and watch but brought home a 1st place in Kata Forms competition and 3rd place in Continuous Point Sparring in an outstanding performance against very game opponents. Keep up the Great Determination and the Indomitable Spirit Mariah!
Katrina “The Storm” Nahe at age 10yrs weathers the storm through the first round of eliminations in her mixed co-ed competition of boys and girls Continuous Point Sparring ends up in the final match for 1st and 2nd place against a 13 yr old Black Belt male in perhaps one of the most exciting sparring matches of the day that rallied back and forth with many combinations of Kicks and Punches thrown as Katrina “The Storm” just short of the 1st place win takes home 2nd place. More action to come in the near future without a doubt by The Storm!
Kalae Carreira takes home 2nd in Kata Forms after being out for almost 1 year due to a broken femur (thigh bone) and is already back to a great start in 2008. Awesome job Kalae!
Miguel Cervantes fought with lots of heart to capture 3rd place in both Kumite and Continuous Point Sparring events. Terrific job Miguel in Bringing it On!
