START COUNTING…

First Deadline June 20
ENGLAND LEADS THE WAY…

In The Quest for The Gold at The
2008

IKF World Classic Amateur Kickboxing Championships!

In 2006, 2 weeks before the First Deadline we had around 20 fighters registered for the IKF World Classic. Last year before the first deadline of July 13th, we had 36 fighters. Today we are well over a month from the First Deadline for 2008 of June 20th and we already have 16 Registered Fighters.

That may not seem like a lot now but if the growth numbers continue as in past years, this could be the Largest turnout yet in the 9 year history of the IKF Championship Tournaments.

Already two camps in Florida are making bold statements that they will each have over 20 fighters. Last year the entire state of Florida registered 25 fighters and finished second to the State with the most registered fighters, Georgia with 31, up from 19 the year before in Iowa.

Although Kickboxing has been extremely quiet in the Peach State of Georgia, word has it that there are plenty of hungry kickboxers there who are ready to make the trip to Orlando and re-claim their title for Most Registered Fighters yet again.

It will be a mystery to see what California brings to “The Show” this year. Last year the Golden State finished a close third to Georgia and Florida with 24 registered fighters. With sincere regret, Dennis Guila of Antioch California will not be able to attend this year. Guila and his school will be at their Martial arts tournament they do every year and this year it just so happened to fall on the very same weekend. We will surly miss them this year with all the top talent they brought last year. Last year Team Guila brought 6 fighters and walked away with 4 World Classic Titles! The only ones who will not miss Team Guila this year will be those in the divisions they would have been in.

Team G-Force Strikes Again at 2008 AMAPA Kick-Off Tournament!

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

On Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 part of the Team G-Force Competition Team started the year off with a blast in sport karate competition in both Kata (Forms Competition) and in Kumite (Sport Karate Fighting) and in Continuous Point Sparring.

Savannah Kauth captured 1st place in an Outstanding Performance in the intermediate girls and boys 10-11 yr old division in Kata Forms Competition and also placed 2nd in Kumite Sparring.  Congrats to Savannah!

                               savanna_and_alexis.jpg

Alexis Chinchilla captured 1st place in the intermediate girls 10-11 yr old division in Kumite Sport Karate Fighting.  Alexis later went on to compete in the Grand Championship Finals and managed to capture the Grand Championship Title for this event.  In addition, Alexis placed 2nd in Kata Forms.  Hats off to Alexis for an awesome show of spirit, determination and skill!

J.T. Permenter took home 1st place in Kata Forms in  another razor sharp performance, then went on to take 3rd place in Kumite sparring.  Great way to start off the year J.T.!

Kapono Carreira picks up where he left off in 2007 starting 2008 already with a bang capturing 1st place in Kumite Sport Karate Fighting in the boys 10-11 yr old intermediate division.  Way to start off the new year Kapono!

Mariah Chinchilla the older sister of Alexis, although feeling ill from just the night prior to this day of competition with flu like symptoms came to the tournament not to sit and watch but brought home  a 1st place in Kata Forms competition and 3rd place in Continuous Point Sparring in an outstanding performance against very game opponents.   Keep up the Great Determination and the Indomitable Spirit Mariah!

Katrina “The Storm” Nahe at age 10yrs weathers the storm through the first round of eliminations in her mixed co-ed competition of boys and girls Continuous Point Sparring ends up in the final match for 1st and 2nd place against a 13 yr old Black Belt male in perhaps one of the most exciting sparring matches of the day that rallied back and forth with many combinations of Kicks and Punches thrown as Katrina “The Storm” just short of the 1st place win  takes home 2nd place.  More action to come in the near future without a doubt by The Storm!

Kalae Carreira takes home 2nd in Kata Forms after being out for almost 1 year due to a broken femur (thigh bone) and is already back to a great start in 2008.  Awesome job Kalae!

Miguel Cervantes fought with lots of heart to capture 3rd place in both Kumite and Continuous Point Sparring events. Terrific job Miguel in Bringing it On!
